BWSFA Seaweed Farm Experience Tour
Join us for a full-day adventure on the Caribbean Sea, guided by trained Placencia guides—men and women who will share their knowledge, culture, and stories. Experience seaweed farming first-hand, snorkel in pristine waters, and immerse yourself in the vibrant marine life of Southern Belize.
Departure: 8:30 a.m. from BWSFA Main Office Dock
- Guest pick-up at the gas station included
- Safety briefing & orientation by lead guide
- Guide-to-guest ratio: 1 guide per 5 guests
Transportation: Aboard Seaweed Gyal, BWSFA’s boat
- Capacity: 9 passengers + captain & sideman (11 total)

Full-Day Itinerary
Join us for a full-day adventure on the Caribbean Sea, guided by trained Placencia guides—men and women who will share their knowledge, culture, and stories. Experience seaweed farming first-hand, snorkel in pristine waters, and immerse yourself in the vibrant marine life of Southern Belize.
1) Snorkeling at Lark’s Caye Range (Optional Stop before or after farm tour)
- 20 minutes from Placencia
- 30–45 minutes of snorkeling among juvenile fish, corals, mangroves & colorful sponges
2) BWSFA Seaweed Farm Tour (Approx. 45 minutes from Lark Caye)
- Guided tour of sustainable seaweed farming
- Learn about two cultivated seaweed species
- Participate in hands-on seaweed planting on submerged lines
- 1 hr 20 min snorkeling: spot seaweed beds, sergeant major fish, eagle rays, conch, and more
- Enjoy a complimentary seaweed shake (milk, cinnamon & local spices)
3) Lunch at Moho Caye
- Traditional Belizean meal: Rice & Beans with stewed chicken/fish
