Strengthening Belize’s Seaweed Industry via Marketing & Value Adding

The SICA AZUL project focused on polishing Belize’s seaweed into a product that could compete in regional and global markets through professional packaging, processing, and marketing.

It was about telling a bigger story — one that linked Belizean seaweed farmed between the Belize Barrier Reef System with the shelves of supermarkets, the kitchens of health-conscious families, and the social media feeds of influencers.

Highlights

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen boved no.

Outcomes

This project gave BWSFA a market-ready toolkit: professional branding, polished packaging, high-quality photography, and marketing campaigns to reach new audiences. It marked the transition from local presence to national contender.

Legacy

SICA AZUL is the culmination of years of growth. From farms to branding, training to tourism, this project tied it all together — preparing Belize’s seaweed industry for scale, visibility, and sustainable national impact.
